Ethanol Locks to Prevent Catheter-Related Bloodstream Infections in Parenteral Nutrition: A Meta-Analysis

This interesting study compares the rates of CVC infections when ethanol is used to lock long term TPN catheters in children instead of traditional heparin locks. The impressive reduction in infection rates may stimulate interest in research in other patient groups.
