Pedantic point - the final page of the article is page 851, not page 85. Otherwise a reasonable overview which still comes to the conclusions that we don't have any really clever treatments on the horizon. I remain a little underwhelmed by early goal directed therapy, and the fluid loads suggested seem consistent with the way I practiced 5-7 years ago. These days I use less fluid. They also give the somewhat schitzophrenic advice to use "minimal PEEP" and "a higher, rather than lower, PEEP" in ARDS. WTF?!? | |
