This is old news for stroke- just new for the ventilated stroke- (see Should Stroke Victims Routinely Receive Supplemental Oxygen? : A Quasi-Randomized Controlled Trial, Ole Morten Rønning and Bjørn Guldvog, Stroke 1999;30;2033-2037) Not adding suplemental O2 to non-hypoxic patients is now part of our stroke protocol. I thought this topic was largely laid to rest.. Hyperoxia for myocardial infarction, however, is an interesting question! | |
